Many people are replying to BCIL's request for stories about access barriers in hospitals, including their inability to get on exam tables or not receive proper personal care because PCAs aren't allowed to provide services. Do you have a story? Contact Karen Schneiderman at 617-338-6665, kschneiderman@bostoncil.org. Other major hospital access issues are bed sores because you haven't been turned; inability to get a mammogram, MRI or x-rays; fractures from transfers; and inability to use your own ventilator. BCIL and Greater Boston Legal Services have embarked on a campaign to promote ADA compliance in hospitals in Greater Boston.
