The Boston Center for Independent Living is located at the corner of Temple Place and Washington St. across from Macy’s.

Public Transportation

Red Line – Take the Red Line to Downtown Crossing.  Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer St.  Walk west (toward Macy’s) on Washington St. for one block to Temple Place.  60 will be the first building on your right.

Orange Line - Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing.  Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer St.  Walk west (toward Macy’s) on Washington St. for one block to Temple Place.  60 will be the first building on your right.

Green Line – Take the Green line to Park St.  Exit the Park St station at Park and Tremont.  Cross Tremont St and walk west 1 block to Temple Place.  Go Left on Temple Place and walk to the other end. 60 is the last building on your left.

               Or

Take the Green Line to Park St.  Switch to the Red line to Downtown Crossing.  Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer St.  Walk west (toward Macy’s) on Washington St. for one block to Temple Place.  60 will be the first building on your right.

Blue Line

Take the Blue line to State St.   Switch to the Orange line to Downtown Crossing.  Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer St.  Walk west (toward Macy’s) on Washington St. for one block to Temple Place. 60 will be the first building on your right.

                Or

Exit the Blue line at State and Washington St. and walk west (toward Macy’s) on Washington St. approximately 5 blocks to Temple Place.  Go right on Temple Place and 60 will be the first building on your right.

Sliver Line –

Take the Silver line to Temple Place.  The silver line off loads right in front of 60 Temple Place.

Driving Directions

Driving from the South

Take Rt. 3/I 93 north to exit 20 Frontage Rd.  Go 0.6 miles and take left onto E. Berkeley St. go 0.2 miles and turn right onto Washington St.  go 0.8 miles.  Washington St. ends at Temple Place where it becomes the walking area of downtown crossing.  BCIL #60 is on the corner of Washington and Temple.

Driving from the North

Take I 93 or Rt. 1 to I 93 south to exit 208-A onto purchase St. go 0.4 miles and turn right onto Summer St.  Go 0.1 miles and turn left onto Bedford St.  Go 0.1 miles and turn left onto Chauncy St.  turn right onto Avenue de Lafayette which is an immediate right. At the end turn right onto Washington St.  Washington St. ends at Temple Place where it becomes the walking area of downtown crossing.  BCIL #60 is on the corner of Washington and Temple.

Driving from the west

Take I 90/Mass Pike east.  Take exit 22 onto Stuart St. (Rt. 9).  Go 1.1 miles and take a left onto Washington St.  Go 0.3 miles Washington St. ends at Temple Place where it becomes the walking area of downtown crossing.  BCIL #60 is on the corner of Washington and Temple.

Parking:  There is very little Street parking in the area.  On Washington St.,  just before you reach Temple Place there is a parking lot on your right across from the opera house.  Or you could take your left at the parking lot and there is a parking garage at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on your left.  Or you could take the right just after the parking lot and there is the Lafayette Parking garage on your left.  There are a couple of HP spots on the corner of Temple and Tremont.
