BCIL holds several special events throughout the year – some geared to activism, some to fundraising and some to providing information.
The
Construction Industry Night at the Pops
This
is BCIL’s largest event. The construction industry has
been supporting BCIL through this event for 28 years.
Perini Corporation and O’Connor Constructors are our
Host Sponsors for the evening and hundreds of industry
professionals join us for a festive night including a
gala reception and a concert by the Boston Pops
orchestra.
Please join us at this year’s event on June 20, 2008 at Symphony Hall.
Annual Meeting
BCIL
holds its Annual Meeting every November to provide a
summary of our year’s activities to our members as well
as present a financial report and elect new members of
our Board of Directors. The meeting will also include a
keynote address by a guest speaker and the conferring of
community awards.
The 2008 Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday November 18, 2008 at the Transportation Building 10 Park Plaza.
The
BCIL Marie Feltin Award Ceremony
This
special event celebrates the life of Dr. Marie C. Feltin
in support of BCIL programs, services and advocacy.
Marie was not only an exceptional doctor, but an
exceptional human being. She co-founded the East Boston
Health Center's Home Care Program, Boston Community
Medical Group, and the Urban Medical Group, pioneering
medical home care to the elderly and persons with
disabilities. The evening bestows three awards to
nominated honorees and gathers together organizations,
providers, grassroots activists and individuals who are
making an impact on the quality of life for people with
disabilities.
Advocacy Summit
Usually held in February or March, the Advocacy Summit brings together many of BCIL’s grassroots activists and community partners to discuss topics of importance to the disability community with a goal of identifying key issues we should collectively focus our efforts on over the course of the year.
